Our Founder


Corbett Healthcare Solutions was founded by Dr. Stefanie Corbett, a nationally recognized skilled nursing facility regulatory expert with over 15 years of experience. Stefanie has a special affinity for seniors, and has devoted her entire professional career to advocating for and advancing the quality of healthcare for the older adult population.

Prior to opening Corbett Healthcare Solutions in 2014, Stefanie served as the Deputy Director of Health Regulation for the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, where she was responsible for overseeing licensing and certification operations to ensure regulatory compliance was enforced at 6,000+ licensed facilities and agencies across the state. In addition to working in the public sector, she has served in various leadership roles in private organizations, as well as academic institutions. 

She is best known for her success in rapid financial and regulatory compliance turnarounds, as well as spearheading the development and execution of innovative business strategies. Under her leadership as a licensed administrator, she rapidly transitioned a facility from a 1-star to a 5-star overall quality rating, landing a ranking in the top 10% of all facilities in the nation by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The facility was recognized by www.msn.com, the US News & World Report, and the American Health Care Association with Bronze Commitment to Quality Award. 

Stefanie developed the content and taught HCPro's post-acute care boot camps. She also established the curriculum and designed the courses for the Health Care Administration concentration for the MBA program at Limestone College. 

Stefanie completed a Doctor of Health Administration degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, a Master of Health Administration degree from the University of South Carolina at Columbia, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is the author of several articles and white papers, as well as four books: Competency-Based Care & Facility Assessments: A Compliance Guide for F726 and F838; The Long-Term Care Compliance Toolkit; Long-Term Care Quality Measures: A Guide to Data Analysis, Performance Improvement, and Public Reporting; and The Theft Prevention Guide for Senior Living. Her research focus is the correlation between publicly reported quality information and financial performance. 

Stefanie is an active member of several professional associations and organizations including the American College of Healthcare Executives, Association of University Programs in Health Administration, HCPro Billers Association Advisory Board and HCPro PPS Alert Advisory Board. She has previously served as a Board Member of the SC Long Term Care Administrators Board and a Board Member of the SC Governor’s Council on Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention.
